Message from the Principal

A woman with blonde hair smiles at the camera, wearing a blue shirt and black blazer.

My name is Penny Murphy and as the principal of Stratford Junior High School, I am honored to lead a school community that is passionate about student growth, academic excellence, and building strong character. I began my career in education in 2007 as a Science teacher and coach. The experiences I have had over my years have shaped my belief that every child has unique strengths and the ability to achieve great success when given the right support and opportunities.

My family and I moved to Stratford in 2015, when my husband accepted a coaching position. Our four children have grown up as Elks and are proud to wear the blue and white.  After six years of teaching at SJH, I became the principal. Here at SJH, we believe our role is not only to teach strong academics but also to guide students as they take the next steps in maturity and personal growth. We are committed to helping our students develop the knowledge, skills, and character they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
